Our Story

Where Horses Heal Hearts

The Healing Ranch was established and funded by Melanie Deemer in August 2015 in Overton, Nevada, after her own experience of beating the odds of a life-threatening illness. Science and personal experience have shown that horses provide much of the necessary therapy required to restore overall good health in those suffering from a wide range of physical and mental disabilities.

In September 2024, The Healing Ranch was formally converted and established as a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization committed to horse rescue and healing humans through horses as a service to the community.

Our Mission

Serving Rural Southern Nevada

The Healing Ranch services the rural Southern Nevada area of Logandale, Overton, Mesquite and Clark County as a whole. In addition to providing rescue services to horses here in Moapa Valley and throughout Clark County, we advocate for those who may not have access to certain resources.

We ensure individuals receive all necessary support to achieve transformative activities, group events and therapeutic interactions — all provided at no cost to the participants.

The Healing Ranch is an exempt organization as described in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
